Change Our World, Oh God!

We take life forgranted, thinking that we will be here forever.  We don't realize how fast our life can change nor if we will be around the next minute, hour, or day.We need to live each day like it's our last.  This is something we hear a lot.  But the truth cannot be ignored, we actually need to live each day as there is no end, so we can encourage others. Ask yourself what type of legacy do I want to leave, one that promotes my faith, my beliefs, and show the love of Christ to the world, or a life that is full of judging others, being self-righteous, and only being angry and hateful to others in the world?  Do you want to wake up and see the goodness of God every day and the people around you that need to be loved? Or are you looking at each day in dispair and who is going to put you in a bad mood for the day?  If you want to change but can't.  If you want the world to see you as a good person but you just don't know how to become that person.  I...

Frustrated with Quarantine?

Hi all- This past week has been kind of a rough week as I'm seeing that many people are getting frustrated with being quarantined.  I see lots of fear, hate, aggravations, and distrust of people, the situation, and the government.  Since this is a pandemic which means every nation has this virus, than we shouldn't even consider this is about politics or our rights into the mix of things.  Neither should we be pointing fingers at our leaders as this is new to them and not something that was ever planned to happen.  I believe that the only thing right now whether or not you want to believe our freedoms are being taken away or this is just another strain of flu, there is nothing that we can do about it.  We're vulnerable for the first time in our lives for most of us.  This isn't like a war where you will win either way.  Like it or not it's out of our control.  So, who do we look to when we need something to be under control, our belief's in God, ...

#Strength for Covid 19 Pandemic

By the time I realized that Covid-19 was actually a very serious virus, there was a lot going through my mind.  The fears and anxieties that we face everyday, were trying to take control of my mind.  My thoughts would race, what are we going to do, are my family and friends safe, do we have enough food and TP, and so on, just like everyone else.  I began to see that these thoughts could overtake me in a way that I didn't want to go.  I know that God is in Control and I know how to control my thoughts, but this was new to me and something different that I needed to learn.  So, one scripture that was running through me at this point was Psalm 46:10, "Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!"  I realized that I was moving at too fast of a pace within my mind.  So, as I started to read this everyday, I knew that I needed to close my mind to the thoughts of panic and anxieties, and to be still f...

Thanksgiving & Praise

With Thanksgiving a day away, we need to stop for a moment to take a look at what we’re thankful for.   The next few weeks will be full of spending time with family, friends, and those we love. Whether it be time spent talking in person, texting each other, or on the phone because of the approaching holidays or just catching up on the years events that were missed from not seeing each other for a while. We need to take a moment, from the hustle and bustle, to reflect and seek God.   We should be thankful every day, no matter what things may lie ahead for that day, God needs to be thanked. There is so much going on in our great country right now that sometimes we lose sight of what there is to be thankful for. Why should we thank God, you may ask, or why should we even praise Him when times are so tough?   We can't give the gifts this Christmas that we would like to.   Well, I can't think of a time that this is more needed! God inhabits the praises of His people...

Prayer for Overcoming Fear

2 Timothy 1:7   (NKJV) 7  For  God has not given us a spirit of fear,  but of power and of love and of a sound mind. Father God- I come before You this day to offer to you all the fears I have in my life.  I ask that you take these burdens from me so I may walk in Your righteousness, dear Father.   I come before Your throne humbly under Your mighty hand, casting all my cares upon You, for I know that You will care for me! (1 Peter 5:6-7)   I command  that all fear and anxieties be gone from me, in Jesus name, for Satan has no power over my mind or my body!  I am a child of the Living God, an overcomer, and a mighty servant of the Lord!  There is NO EVIL that shall befall me, in the name of Jesus! (Psalm 91 protection scripture). Thank You Lord for making me Your righteousness through Your Son, Jesus!  I praise You for all Your work that, Lord, You have done for me.  In You I will trust and always find m...

Thanking God

Sometimes in the hustle and bustle of life we tend to forget that we need to not only ask God to answer our prayers, but we need to Thank God for answering our prayers.  God has shown me through the years that it is just as important to thank and praise Him, as it is to come before Him with our needs and wants.  Why do we just assume He owes us answered prayers and not thank Him?  Isn't He worthy of our praise and thanksgiving?  After all He sent His only Son, Jesus to die for us.  It puzzles me as to how many Christians forget how important this is, and how many churches don't teach this anymore.  When you give someone a gift, don't you expect at least a thank you for that gift?  So, why do we hesitate in thanking our Father in Heaven for all He's done in our life? If you have noticed on this prayer blog the first statement I make in my prayers is a thank you to God, it is usually my ending statement in a prayer as well.  This solidifies my res...
