Turning From Our Wicked Ways
2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Through this season, we keep seeing this scripture, mainly on social media sites. God is trying really hard to show His people what is going on, yet are we LISTENING? Are we turning from our wicked ways? These are the questions that we, the church need to look at. I haven't been hearing compassion too much on social media or in public places that much. We need to love one another as we love ourselves and love God above anything or anyone. Are we ACTING upon this scripture? Are we LOVING unconditionally? We need to REPENT from our ways and start sharing the love that God has given us in a very productive way, leading others who need Him to SALVATION.
Ezekiel 33:8-9 KJV
When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he does not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
What God is saying is that we need to be going out and teaching those, that will listen, that they are living in sin. If they don't listen we won't be held accountable for we have tried to bring them out of their wicked ways. This isn't only for the non-Christian, but for our fellow Christians who are judging others or not understanding God's love. We are to do all of us in a loving and kind manner according to how the Holy Spirit leads us, being careful not to condemn nor judge others.
Jesus gave us two great commandments to live by while He was among us in the flesh. We need to follow these with enthusiasm through the extent of our entire lives.
Matthew 22:36-40 KJV
“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?”
Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” Yes, we do need to pray for the right things and on our knees every day giving this Nation and those in it over to God our Father. But first above all we need to love.
