Fullness of God

Fullness of God : Study on Ephesians 4
Ephesians 4:4-6 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

Jesus called us to serve therefore He gave us forgiveness through grace. This is what led us to the baptism of the Holy Spirit, which is God's Spirit. In the above scripture, Paul is explaining that there is only one truth and that is that God is the only one above us in our ministries and in all we do, once we have given our lives to Him.

The Holy Spirit comes into your life when you accept Jesus into your life. You must ask for God's Spirit to awaken within you, for the fullness of God to become prominent in your life, which makes it possible for the gifts of the Holy Spirit to manifest in you, as well as, the fruits of the Holy Spirit.

When you accept Christ into your life you are getting a package deal, Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Whether or not you are willing to accept this package entirely is up to you. As the Lord calls us into ministry, we learn what gifts the Holy Spirit has to offer within us.  Whether we preach or just work within a ministry, God has something special for each one of us, not just a chosen few.  He's called all of us to serve Him and train others, bringing them into His Kingdom.  It's just a matter of if you will come and serve, as in the word of God says throughout the scriptures, whosoever will.

Ephesians 4:11-16 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head-Christ- from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does it share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

This portion of the scripture is stating that we are not to be tossed and turned by man's doctrine or man's wisdom no matter how or why. However, we need to be focused on the wisdom of the only true word of God, the Bible. Theologies of man can turn away the human mind, but once you let the Spirit of God manifest in your life, He will guide you into the Truth. Remember, the wisdom of man is not God's wisdom, nor will it ever be.  Here we learn also that we are to be united in the truth and wisdom of God, coming together in one accord, as it was done in Acts 2 on the Day of Pentecost.  This brings growth to the church through showing the love of God to those who need it the most, which is all of us.

Ephesians 4:17-24 This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. But you have not so learned Christ, if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

Paul, who was speaking here, was led by the Holy Spirit to write these words to the church (God's people). Paul knew well about doing away with the old man and putting on the new, since his conformation on the road to Damascus in Acts 9. As the Holy Spirit leads, so shall we preach the truth of God. We need to leave all that is bad behind us and start on a new path, the path which is led by the Holy Spirit. Once we accept God's Spirit into our daily lives this will become easier as the Spirit wants us to be at one with God and to remove the unity of the flesh.

Ephesians 4:30-32 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

The last part of this scripture, is asking us not to ignore the Spirit but to embrace Him.  Reminding us again that we need to forgive others as Christ forgave us, and this is the Truth. "Be hard to hurt, and easy to forgive!" That has been my statement for the past few years and trust me it works well. When you don't let man bring you down by words (evil speaking) that hurt you and forgive them for what they do or say against you, this doesn't let bitterness take hold in your life, which makes it easier to forgive anyone who does you wrong.

The Holy Spirit assists you in forgiveness and judging others in your everyday walk.  He brings forth an unconditional love that brings us towards being more like Christ.  While we can never be exactly as Christ, since He was without sin, we can show His love through His Spirit to the world.  You just need to ask that the Holy Spirit awakens in your daily life, while you walk with Christ.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father-
I come before You now and ask that You would help me to forgive others as You have forgiven me.  I ask that Your Holy Spirit would well up within my very soul and fill me with Your living water.  I'm open to serve You in whatever way You call me.  I am made for a purpose and ask that You will show me that purpose through this infilling of Your Holy Spirit.  Guide me and direct my path so that others will want more of You by seeing You through me.  Thank You for making me who I am and who I am about to become in You.  Strengthen my steps, my words and my mind to seek that which You are showing me to do.  I praise Your Holy and Wonderful name Jesus, thanking You everyday for Saving me from sin and death.  Thank You for my new life.

In Jesus' Name,
AMEN
